Random Student Drug Testing Policy Enacted

At the July 2015 Columbus Grove Board of Education meeting, policy was approved to begin random student drug testing for students in grades 7-12.  Students eligible for random drug testing are those who participate in an activity that is deemed a privilege.  By law, students who do not participate in any extra-curricular activities are not eligible for random drug testing.  Participation in extra-curricular activities at Columbus Grove, both competitive and non-competitive (E.g. Student Council, Leo Club, NHS, etc.), meets the requirements for being eligible for random testing.  Click here to review this policy. Please click here to find frequently asked questions regarding random student drug testing. If you have any questions, please contact the superintendent’s office at 659-2639.

Community Program Launched to Help CG Students

Did you know that nearly 35% of the students who attend Columbus Grove Schools qualify for the Federal Government’s Free/Reduced Lunch Program? Research shows that children living with hunger insecurity are more likely to be negatively impacted in terms of cognitive and physical growth as well as fighting infection. According to the National Hunger Study, families in poverty are many times forced into having to choose between food and other basic necessities, such as rent, utilities and medical care. To address the challenges these families face, a new community program entitled Bless a Bulldog will help serve our needy children in Columbus Grove Schools. This program will supply these children with two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners on the weekends. The first target date for food distribution is Friday, February 14th. Please click here to learn more about this program.
