Good morning. Today is Monday, May 13, 2019.

In girls track action over the weekend the lady dogs won their 6th consecutive NWC championship. Event winners were Madi Maag discus, Kennedy Flores shot put, Alyssa Ellerbrock 800,1600,3200, Rylee Sybert 100,200,400, and the 4x800 relay team of Erin Downing, Morgan Deffenbaugh, Addi Schafer, and Alyssa Ellerbrock. Good job girls.

The Grove Boys Track team traveled to Allen East and won the Northwest Conference Championship for the 7th time in 8 years. The dogs used a strong start on Thursday to power them to 169 points while second place Lincolnview had 117. Placing first for the dogs were:
Hunter Roethlisberger in the Shot Put
Gabe Clement in the Pole Vault
Zeke Halker in the High Jump
Ethan Halker in the Discus
Jon Banal in the 110 Hurdles
And the 3200 Relay team of Jordan Bellman, Carson Closson, Breece Pingle, and Caleb Stechschulte

Over the weekend, Tadd Koch and Lawson Maag competed in the All-
Division Junior High State Track & Field Meet in Lancaster, Ohio. Tadd
threw a personal record of 160’1” to place 3rd. Lawson also threw a
season best throw of 164’ to finish in 1st place. Great season fellas!

Mr. Arthur needs the following jerseys from: Keeley Hines, Trevan
Halker, Dylan Halker, Antonio Gray, and Noah Goecke. Please return
your jersey to Mr. Arthur as soon as possible.

The Bulldogs Varsity Baseball team went on a winning streak when it mattered most, taking wins in the last 3 games, all conference matchups. Friday the Dogs welcomed Delphos Jefferson back with a 4-1 win. after the April 25th game was postponed. The Bulldogs got a dominating performance on the mound from Alex Schneider who completed the last 5 innings with 6 strikeouts only allowing 1 run. Brady Rudasill led the Dogs at the plate going 2-3. On Saturday the Bulldogs traveled to Continental in a must win situation to force a PCL Title game with Kalida. The Dogs made it clear they wanted a shot at the championship with a 13-0 win in 5 innings. Nick Woods was stellar on the mound striking out 10 batters in 4 innings. Kurt Griffith would come on in the 5th to close it out. At the plate Nick was 3-4 with 2 rbi's. Brady Hauenstein went 2-3 with 4 rbi's. Tuesday's Putnam County League Title is set, Grove will host the game at 5pm. Please come out, wear your Bulldog gear and support the Dogs Baseball team! There will be a home run derby for all students and alumni following the game!
13-6 ovr. 5-1 PCL 5-2 NWC

The Columbus Grove Lady Bulldogs picked up 2 wins over the weekend against Delphos Jefferson and Continental. On Friday, the Bulldogs took down the Wildcats 17 to 7 in five innings. Autumn Renner and Danielle Bame each went 3 for 4 and Joy Stechschulte went 2 for 3 with a home run. Danielle Bame set the school record for steals in a season in the win. Emily Watt picked up the win in the circle and Cheyenne Mershman picked up the save.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs defeated Continental in PCL action 21-6. The Bulldogs continued their hot batting at the plate. Kam Utendorf went 4 for 5 with three doubles and 5 RBI's. Danielle Bame added another 3 for 4 and Madison Zimmerly went 2 for 3. Cheyenne Mershman pitched 5 innings in the win. This moved the Bulldogs to 4 and 1 in the PCL and will have a chance to win a share of the PCL on Tuesday against Kalida for the sixth straight season. Good Luck Girls.

Mulch Deliveries will continue this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a sign-up sheet in Coach Schafer's room - stop by today and take a shift.

Reminder that JH physicals will be tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Grove Chiropractic Physical forms are located on the table outside of the high school office and must be signed by a parent before an examination can be given.

There will be a Leo club meeting today during activity period in the commons for 9th - 11th grade members.

Seniors, once you are finished with them, you can turn your computers in to the Library anytime this week.

Due to AP testing, the library will be closed Tuesday morning periods 1 - 6. Printers and copier will be turned off during this time.

Every day in the U.S. roughly 41,000 blood donations are needed. On Thursday June 6, Paige Langhals will be hosting a blood drive through the American Red Cross at the Columbus Grove American Legion. Sign up during your lunch period today through Thursday to donate blood.

Bulldogs LEAD is a school wide campaign about Leadership, Encouraging Others, Achieving Goals, and Doing the Right Thing. K through 12 students will be nominated each quarter by their teachers for demonstrating these character traits. This quarter we will focus on Doing the Right Thing.
