During the second half of this school year, students in the State of Ohio will be taking the new computer based assessments for English, Math, Science and Social Studies. This page will provide some information and guidance as Columbus Grove students prepare to take the tests. There are two different types of tests, one for English and Math, one for Science and Social Studies.
PARCC - English/Language Arts and Mathematics
The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a group of states working together to develop a set of assessments that measure whether students are on track to be successful in college and their careers. These include the ELA and Mathematics tests for the 3rd through 12th grades. There will be two rounds of tests, each having to be administered in a certain window:
- Performance Based Assessments (PBA) - 02/16/15 through 03/20/15
- End of Year Assessments (EYA) - 04/13/15 through 05/15/15

Testing Interface - This tutorial explains and allows students to use the actual testing interface they'll see when they are taking the tests.

Practice Tests - These are actual practice tests that cover the material that will be on the test.
As of 12/12/14, Practice tests have been published for Grades 3-11 English Language Arts (PBA), Grades 3-8 Mathematics (EYA), and HS Mathematics (EYA).
A January release will publish practice tests for Grades 3-11 English Language Arts (EYA), Grades 3-8 Mathematics (PBA), and HS Mathematics (PBA)
Ohio Computer Based Assessments - Social Studies and Science
The Ohio science and social studies tests are administered for the first time in the spring 2015. Developed by the State of Ohio, these tests complement the PARCC English Language Arts and Mathematics tests. The Social Studies tests will be administered to Grades 4 and 6 along with HS students taking American History and American Government. The Science tests will be administered to Grades 5 and 8 along with HS students taking Physical Science and Biology. There will be two rounds of tests, again, each having to be administered in a certain window:
- Performance Based Assessments (PBA) - 03/02/15 through 03/13/15
- End of Year Assessments (EYA) - 05/04/15 through 05/15/15
