Obtaining a Work Permit

To avoid delays in the work permit process during the summer months, please follow these steps…
1. Print out a pre application form that can be found here.
- The top portion needs to be filled out and signed by a parent.
- If a physical is not on file at the school within the year, please print the physicians form found here and have your family physician fill it out.
- Have the employer fill out the “Pledge of Employer” portion.
2. Contact the school to arrange a time to process the form. Please email Kristal Pingle.
3. Bring the completed form to Kristal (during the arranged time) to have the info entered into the Ohio.gov website. Both the student and the secretary will have to sign the completed form to be taken back to the employer.

Transitioning from Ohio Alerts to Remind

Earlier this year our district was informed that the text notification service we've been using for the last 10+ years, Ohio Alerts, will be discontinued on June 30th. We are excited to share that Columbus Grove Local Schools has selected Remind as our new notification service. Many of you already use it, but if you're not already familiar with Remind, it's a classroom communication tool that makes it easy to stay involved with classroom and school events. Remind is free to use, and you'll be able to get and send messages on any device—even a simple text message from your phone!

Go to https://youtu.be/Gns8pBXn_aM to view a video from Mr. Keehn about the transition and go to http://cg.noacsc.org/remind to view more detailed information on the Remind rollout process that will begin on June 2nd.

Final Forms for 21-22 Now Available

Parents and students can begin filling out their Final Forms information for next school year now. Log in at https://columbusgrove-oh.finalforms.com/ and click the "Click to Switch to 2021-22 Registration" button at the top of the page to get started.

Junior High and High school students participating in extracurriculars next year that plan on getting a physical this Spring should complete their forms before they do so. JH physicals at Grove Chiropractic are on May 18 starting at 3:00 pm and HS physicals are on May 25 starting at 3:00 pm. The cost is $10.

ATTENTION: FREE School Lunches for ALL Students!

On 8/31/20, the USDA passed a waiver that would allow schools to use funding from the federal government and the USDA to feed ALL students FREE. This allows school districts to offer meals to ALL students at NO CHARGE this fall to minimize the challenges of meal service during the pandemic.

What does this mean for your child/ren? Beginning September 8, ALL students started eating in our cafeteria FREE. We also offer breakfast, which your child/ren can receive FREE. This program will be offered until funds from the USDA run out. When this happens, we will let families know.

If your child/ren packs a lunch from home, the price to purchase a milk is $0.60 (this is not free). If your child/ren would like to have more than one milk with their meal, it will cost an additional $0.60 for each extra milk. We will also offer a la-cart items for purchase for grades 5-12. Grades 5-12 can purchase an extra entrée for $1.75. Grades 7-12 can purchase extra items such as chips, cookies, muffins, and drinks each day.
