NWC All League voting was held last night and the following Bulldogs took home honors. Abby Stechschulte and Lauren Fuerst each earned 1st Team NWC while Dakota Dunn, Erainne Heffner, and Jade Siefker earned Honorable Mention. Good luck to the Lady Dawgs as they face the Lancers in the District Semi Finals at Elida tonight at 4:00.

The girls track team finished the regular season as NWC champions scoring 173.5 to second place Bluffton with 127. In the field events, Lauryn Auchmuty placed first in long jump and pole vault alongside teammate Mya Verhoff who took 3rd. In the throws, Nicole Nesby was second in discus and third in the shot put. First place finishers on the track included the 4x200m relay team of Devanie Pingle, Allison Thompson, Bree Closson and Jade Roeder, 4x100m relay team of Allison Thompson, Kendal Palte, Lauryn Auchmuty and Jade Roeder, Jade Roeder in the 400m dash and Lauryn Auchmuty in the 200. The 4x800m relay team of Sarah Kamphaus, Lily Montgomery, Grace Morman and Breanne Furerst and the 4x400m relay team of Jade Roeder, Bree Closson Kendal Palte and Devanie Pingle took second. Kendal Palte also took second in the 300m hurdles while distance runners Sarah Kamphaus and Lily Montgomery took second and third place in the 3200m run. Great job to all the athletes. District tournament action starts on Thursday at Ada.

Over the weekend, the OHSAA held the Ohio State Junior High State Track & Field meet in Columbus. Students across the state had to qualify in the top 24 in their specific event. Liv Mayberry, Preston Ellerbrock, and Gavin Baxter qualified for the meet.
Liv matched her personal record of 8 feet in the pole vault and finished in 18th place.
Preston Ellerbrock also matched his personal record in the high jump at 5 feet 10 inches, to finish 4th overall.
Gavin Baxter began the day with a win in the long jump. Later in the day, he set an Ohio state meet record in the 110 meter hurdles with a personal best and school record time of 15.03 seconds. He followed that up by also winning the 200 meter hurdles with a state meet and school record time of 24.96 seconds.
Altogether, Gavin and Preston scored 34 points. That was good enough to place runner’s up in the State Track & Field meet. Great season, DAWGS!

On Saturday the Grove Boys Track team won their 6th straight Northwest Conference Title by once again defeating second place Bluffton. The dogs tallied 161 points while the Pirates scored 123. Placing first for the dogs were:
Loudon Auchmuty in the Discus
Jarrod Holland in the High Jump
Trevon Baxter in the Pole Vault
And Luke Ellerbrock in the mile and 2 mile.

On May 22nd former OSU Buckeyes Wide Receiver and Team Captain Kamryn Babb will be speaking at the O-G Lifewise Truth for Youth event at the Ottawa K of C. Tickets have been paid for by sponsors and are free. However, you won’t be able to get in without a ticket. If you would like a ticket please see Mrs. Pingle in the office.

Athletic physicals will be given at Grove Chiropractic May 14 form 3:00 - 6:00 pm for students in grades 9-11 planning to play sports next year. Cost is $10 and forms can be printed from Final Forms after forms have been completed for next year. Please see Mrs. Pingle in the office if you need your form printed.
