Columbus Grove Local Schools plans to use the majority of the ARP ESSER funds to continue to employ and hire new school staff. From the remaining funds Columbus Grove Local Schools will reserve at least 20% of the total funding to address learning loss through the implementation of evidence-based interventions and ensure that those interventions respond to students’ social, emotional, and academic needs and address the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on underrepresented students’ subgroups, as required by the U.S. Department of Education. These efforts will include hiring staff to provide direct intervention to students, the purchasing of materials to address learning loss, and maintaining existing support for students’ social, emotional, and academic needs. The remaining funds will be used to purchase equipment and supplies to sanitize and clean school facilities.
