October Senior in the Spotlight

Oct21SeniorSpotlightThe Columbus Grove High School Guidance Department will be recognizing one senior each month to spotlight. The advisers for LEO Club, Student Council, National Honor Society, Scholastic Team, and Class Officers have been asked to nominate students in their organizations that have stepped up to take a leadership role at Columbus Grove High School. In addition, the students have maintained their grades while participating in their extracurricular activities. Students will be awarded a certificate, given a small gift and recognized at the Senior Academic Awards Night in May.

Congratulations to Madison Zimmerly for being selected for the October Senior in the Spotlight. Madison is the daughter of Jared and Katie Zimmerly. She was nominated by the Student Council Adviser, Mrs. Pingle, for taking a leadership role during homecoming. Madison went above and beyond her duties the weeks before and of homecoming. She is an outstanding student academically, maintaining a 4.0 GPA in her high school and CCP coursework at Ohio State University. This high GPA is no surprise as she has received outstanding student awards in ten of her classes! She is active in Columbus Grove athletics, where she is a 3-year varsity member of softball. Also, Madison has earned athletic awards. She has been a two year Scholar Athlete, 2nd Team NWC for softball, 1st Team PCL for softball, and 2nd Team Northwest District softball her junior year. Madison is very active in the school too. She participates in National Honor Society, Prom Committee, Leo Club and is a class officer.

While working with Madison, you will find her to be extremely coachable, dedicated and always wanting to challenge herself. She has a great sense of humor and takes constructive criticism very well. With these positive qualities constantly on display, the Columbus Grove High School Guidance is pleased to award the October Senior in the Spotlight to Madison Zimmerly.

After graduation, Madison plans to attend college to study Nursing.
