The Junior High Trackies were in action last night at the 49th annual Bearcat Invitational. Both boys and girls won the team championships. Some highlights from last night were:

Lauren Martz won the discus with a throw of 95 feet, 6 inches.
Trevon Baxter won the pole vault with a vault of 12 feet.
The 4 by 800 meter relay team of Kamphaus, Montgomery, Martz, and Roeder won with a time of 11 minutes and 17 seconds.
Kendal Palte won the 200 meter hurdles.
The 4 by 100 meter relay team of Myers, Pingle, Thompson, and Palte won with a time of 55.7 seconds.
Landon Best won the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.8 seconds.
Evan Wehri won the discus with a toss of 122 feet, 5 inches.
The 4 by 400 meter relay team of Kamphaus, Roeder, Mertz, and Pingle won with a time of 4 minutes and 41 seconds.
The Bulldogs will be in action again next week at the Putnam County League Meet at Ottoville.

Attention Prom Servers:
After testing this morning, you need to go to the elementary gym to meet with Mrs. Hermiller.

Petitions to run for a high school class officer or student council for the 2022-2023 need to be turned back into the office by 3:00 today.

Bulldog brews will be closing for the year on May 4th. On closing day, all coffees will be $1. Please come support Bulldog Brews one last time.

Attention Prom Attendees:
Doors for prom will open at 7:00 pm and will lock at 7:45 pm, so be sure to arrive on schedule. Fathers will again be parking cars this year, so you will pull up to the main entrance by the high school office, exit your car, and enter through those doors. The meal will be served at 7:30, and the dance will be from 8:30-10:30. Everyone must exit the building after the dance. Doors for post-prom will open at 11:20. You will enter through the bus doors by the cafeteria. When checking in, you will pick up your tickets for the Monte Carlo games. There is no re-entry during post prom, and you will not be permitted to leave the building before post prom ends without a parent being notified.

Seniors planning to be recognized at the Senior Signing Day Assembly on Friday, May 13th should turn in your bright pink paper to the guidance office by the end of the day today. This paper is used to plan the assembly. If you have any questions, please talk to Mrs. Losh.

On December 10th, tornadoes blew through western parts of Kentucky, causing destruction to many homes. The Leo Club is teaming up with the Ohio Lions Club to collect items to help some of the families affected. Please bring in whatever is assigned to your class the week of May 2-6 :
7th : disinfectant spray
8th : paper plates
Freshman : plastic cutlery
Sophomore : Pasta/Rice or Boxed Mac & cheese
Juniors : paper towel rolls
Seniors : trash bags

Please check your emails or Guidance Schoology and complete the Google Form. The guidance office is collecting information for the Graduation Program. This should be completed by today, April 29th by 3:00PM.

Columbus Grove Color Guard clinics for the 22-23 season start next Monday, May 2 from 3-5. There is no commitment to attending the clinic, but we would love to see anyone curious about color guard come to have their questions answered!

Christmas for Kids raffle tickets will be on sale during lunch periods for high school students. Tickets are 1 for .25 cents or 5 for $1.00. Purchase your ticket and then bring it to the office to choose which basket you want a chance to win. All money will benefit Christmas for Kids. Tickets will be on sale Monday - Thursday and the winners will be announced on Friday.

Anyone interested in participating in this school year's musical, Auditions are next week! Don't forget to grab an audition time this week. Sign up sheets are inside the chorus room on the bulletin board.

Reminder if you plan to go hunting to pick up a permission slip in the office.

There will be a short meeting during activity period today in the commons for girls in grade 9-12 planning to play softball in the spring.

Attention all junior high and high school students interested in wrestling this year. There will be a meeting during activity period today in the high school gym.

There will be a 7th grade volleyball meeting in Mrs. Birnesser's classroom during activity period today.

7th and 8th grade boys basketball practice will be held Monday from 5-7 in the Elementary Gym. All boys should dress in the JH locker room.

Sophomore Leo Club Members: Now is the time to apply for the 2022 HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar. See Mrs. Birnesser to receive an application. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 19th.

Thank you to all students in grades 7-12 who participated this week in Fall Fun Week. Throughout the week spirit points were calculated for the pumpkin trivia, decorating pumpkins, grade level color competition and the costume contest. Congratulations to the 9th grade for winning the most spirit stick the month of October! Followed by 10th grade, 12th grade and last 11th grade. Class presidents please meet down by the decorated pumpkins during activity for a picture. For the junior high, 8th grade came in 1st the month of October.

Thank you LEO Club for helping decorate the school for Fall Fun Week with your very creative pumpkins. The winners of the pumpkin decorating contest are as follows: Best Use of Recycled Materials - Clifford the Big Red Dog decorated by Madison Thompson, Emma Brown, and Alexis Wymer; The Funniest - Grandma decorated by Natalie Langhals and Madilynn Maag; Best Use of Red and Gray- Snowman decorated by Audrey Keehn, Amber Michel and Abby Buescher; Best of Show - 3rd place - Muppets decorated by Makailey Bermudez, Kaitlin Dipnarine, Claire Oatman, and Lauren Fuerst, 2nd Place - Farm Yard decorated by Ryan Hardeman, Marissa Ball, Claire Kiene, and Payton Hoorman, and 1st Place - Dunkin Donuts decorated by Macey Dunlap and Delaney Winterseller. Great job LEO Club! All LEO Club members that decorated pumpkins should come down by their pumpkins today during activity period for a picture.

All band members will need to be dismissed at 1:55 today to head to the band room for their send off.

The Columbus Grove livestock 4-h club will hold its first meeting this Sunday, February 7 from 1pm to 2 pm at Five Angle Construction office The meeting will be a drive thru event. Member names will be collected and information and passed out. Any student in the 3rd grade and older is eligible to join 4-h. Parents are encouraged to come to this first meeting.


A Jostens representative will be here during the lunch periods Wednesday, February 10th to pass out graduation orders. Please be sure that your order is paid in full before this date.

Lauren Benroth, Tayt Birnesser, Adeleigh Halker, Katie Schroeder, and Cody Tabler please report to Mrs. Birnesser's classroom during activity period to work on Valentine's Day Cards.

Happy birthday to Austin Gillette. Please stop in the guidance office for a birthday treat.

Lunch is free this year for all students due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, any student wanting to purchase anything extra will need to have money in your account. The free meal includes everything offered on the bottom row of the lunch line which consists of the main entree, milk, two types of vegetables, and fruit.

There is also NO CHARGING ON ALA-CARTE ITEMS. Ala-carte Items are defined as ANYTHING EXTRA such as a milk or extra milk, extra entree, extra fruits or veggies, dinner rolls, cookies, muffins, PB&J, chips, Ice cream, water and switch drinks. These items are typically on the second and third shelves of the lunch lines.

Attention SENIORS!!
Today in your English class you will be given an order form for senior class t-shirts. Please return the form and cash or check made out to Columbus Grove Schools to Mr. Schnipke by next Friday, the 29th. Extra forms are available in the office. There is also a "21" sheet floating around for you to sign, which will go on the back of the shirt.

Happy birthday to Madelyn Nartker. Please stop in the guidance office for a birthday treat.

Teachers - The guidance office will be dropping off papers 1st period to be passed out to students during activity period. Please pass out the Jammin' in January competition rules to the students in grades 7-12 during activity period. All contest rules are explained on the sheet. The Google Form will be emailed at 8:45 to all students and staff wanting to participate.
